2021 Jeep Wrangler 4XE - First Look
The Jeep Wrangler is perhaps the leading light of modern off-road SUVs, and the lineup has just been expanded to include an all-new hybrid model that promises a significant performance boost both on and off the pavement. What are the main features of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4XE Concept? Read our first look to find out.
Powerful Hybrid Powertrain
The Wrangler 4XE takes the well-respected 2.0L turbo-four gasoline engine from the current range and pairs it with dual electric motors, providing a hefty 375 horsepower and 470lb-ft of torque.
Solely in performance terms, these figures would make the 4XE an attractive prospect, but there's more to the hybrid story.
The new Wrangler will also have an electric-only range of up to 40km on a single charge, ample for low-key city driving duties, coupled with an estimated 4.7L / 100km fuel economy.
Off-Road Excitement
However, don't think that the hybrid has sacrificed any of the Wrangler's famed off-road ability. The 4XE features the same Selec-Trac four-wheel drivetrain to ensure the Jeep can handle any terrain you throw it over.
Confirmed pricing is not yet available, but the 2021 4XE is expected to be the flagship of the Wrangler range with a price to match, going on sale at the turn of the year.
